China has warned countries who have announced a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics that they "will pay the price for their mistaken acts".
The US, UK, Australia and Canada will not send government representatives to the Games because of concerns over China's human rights record.
This includes widespread allegations of abuse against the Uyghur minority group.
France, host of the next Summer Games, said it would not join the boycott.
The United States has said its government officials will boycott February's Beijing Olympics because of China's human rights “atrocities."
China has denied any wrongdoing in Xinjiang and said allegations are not true.
These allegations and talks on boycotting is coming up just weeks after talks aimed at easing tense relations between the world's two largest economies.
The games are scheduled to begin on the 4th of February, 2022 and run through 20th of February, 2022.
