President Barrow of the Gambia wins Presidential elections, in his re-election bid. The opposition opposes the election results.

President Adama Barrow has been re-elected. This is the first vote for decades held without long-term leader Yahya Jammeh.

President Barrow received around 53% of Saturday’s vote, with nearest rival Ousainou Darboe on 28%.

Mr Darboe and other candidates earlier said they could not accept the results of the poll.

The elections were seen as a test for democracy in the country.

Adama Barrow, is the third and current President of the Gambia, he was first elected into office in 2017.
