Chancellor Sir, Dr. Odidi’s mercurial performance in the industrial world has been quite outstanding.  From 1995 to 1998, Dr. Isa Odidi held positions, first as Director, then as Vice President of Research, Drug Development and New Technologies at Biovail Corporation International (now Biovail Corporation), a drug delivery company.  During this time, Dr. Odidi developed several blockbuster drugs, including super generics of the very difficult to duplicate Adalat CC (Bayer) and Procardia XL (Pfizer).

Chancellor Sir, Dr. Odidi continues to navigate new vistas in his unquenchable interest in the development of Africa in general and more specifically our beloved county Nigeria.  His is a pioneer in the evolution of Diaspora Nigerians involvement in the political landscape of Nigeria.  Dr. Odidi is the founder of the new Democrats Political party.  The Party was the first political party in Nigeria and Africa to be formed and managed from abroad.  Dr. Isa Odidi’s decision to form the New Democrats Political Party was rooted in his love and passion for Africa and his devotion to the country even while residing in Canada.

Dr. Odidi contested the April 2007 Nigerian Elections and challenged the Nigerian constitution on the question of a dual citizen running for Presidential Election.  Dr. Odidi changed history in the historic landmark decision by the courts to allow a dual citizen to contest the elections. This feat was a major accomplishment for Dr. Odidi and all Africans in Diaspora due to its tremendous precedence.  He has continued to show keen interest in political developments in Nigeria.

While in Canada he has continued to mobilize both human and natural resources for the uplift of mankind, especially Africans.  Dr. Isa Odidi is the Governor of the Canadian International Peace Project, and the Canadian International Peace project is an independent; non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting peace, development and security locally, nationally and internationally.  Through his capacity as Governor, Dr. Isa Odidi’s work has contributed to humanitarianism, peace and development in Africa and the rest of the world, promoting greater education, understanding and harmony among a wide range of racial, ethnic, linguistic and cultural communities.

Chancellor Sir, the Odidi success story is an eloquent testimony to the veracity of the adage that behind very successful man there is a woman.  Dr. Odidi is blessed with a great woman of substance and royal pedigree, Dr. (Mrs) Amina Odidi, a princess of the royal family of the Kano Emirate. She received her B.Sc in Pharmacy, M.Sc in Biopharmaceutics and her Ph.D in Pharmaceutics from the University of London. She co-founded Intellipharmaceutics Inc., the predecessor of the publicly traded Intellipharmaceutics International Inc.  She has continued to co-invent, co-invest, co-product and synergized with her darling husband Dr. Odidi.  They have been an unstoppable winning team.

Chancellor Sir, great achievers, those that chart the course of human development, individuals of impeccable character, visionaries, inventors, scholars, industrialists, great entrepreneurs, men that are conscientious, focused, tenacious in pursuing set goals, patriots, nationalist, social crusaders, defenders of the downtrodden, lovers and promoters of peace, mentors, inspirational leaders, and indeed men that have been blessings to their fellow men and women and indeed to humanity, such men deserve honour and deserve to be celebrated, such a man is Dr. Isa Odidi.
