Traffic rules and regulations in Nigeria issued by FRSC



Have you taken a drive on an highway in Nigeria? The complete disregard for traffic rules and regulations is alarming. Below are tips to follow in becoming a better road user. No one is immune from this rules, let's inculcate discipline on our roads.

*Keep loyal to your side:*
 Stick to the right side of the road and allow other vehicles in the opposite direction to pass through. Don’t drive in the middle of the street then be a victim of a tragic head-on accident!

*Keep calm and handle all turns and roundabouts:*
Needless to say, you have to slow down when approaching sharp turns or bends to avoid abrupt reactions if have.

*Pay attention to traffic jams:*
As the volume of vehicles during a traffic congestion is enormous, move slowly and carefully steer your wheels through the crowd.

*Never exceed the speed limit:*
Everything exists for a reason, so does the speed limit. Check the regulation for speed limit in each type of route then conform to it.

*Keep a safe distance:*
With all vehicles around you, to be more exact. Most side or rear-end collisions happen as the safe distance between 2 vehicles is not maintained.

*Memorize and adhere to road signs:* 
This is of course a must for all. Check out all types of road signs and their meanings in Nigeria. It won’t take you more than 10 minutes to understand them all.
