Hey, another meal to spice up your Christmas is Peppersoup. Pepper soup is a delicious soup from parts of West Africa, notably Nigeria that is prepared using various meats, chili peppers and calabash nutmeg as primary ingredients. It is a spicy soup that has a light, watery texture.
INGREDIENTS FOR PEPPER SOUP:
1. Chicken / fish / cow leg / cow tail
2. Calabash nutmeg (Ehiri/Ehuru) (grounded).
3. Seasoning
4. Cloves
5. Onions
6. 2 tablespoons Scent leaves (dry uziza leaves)
7. Red chili pepper / habanero pepper (to taste)
8. Salt (to taste)
HOW TO COOK PEPPER SOUP:
Wash and prepare chicken, goat meat or cow leg. Whichever source of meat you choose.
Place meat on fire to cook.
Add seasoning cubes, onions, and ground spices.
Add chili or habanero peppers and salt to taste.
Cook on medium-high heat till meat is tender and cooked.
Add scent leaves for a sweet aroma and flavouring. Cook for two minutes, and the peppersoup is ready.
Nigerian Pepper Soup is best served hot with agidi or white rice or boiled yam, whichever you prefer.
