PDP Crisis Deepens As Wike, Makinde, Other G5 Governors, Party Chieftains Form Integrity Group.

The G5 Governors and other aggrieved members of the party have insisted that the party’s National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, must resign for the sake of fairness.

The aggrieved governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), popularly known as G5 Governors led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State in alliance with some chieftains of the party, have announced the formation of Integrity Group.

More Nigerians seeking UK visas, says British High Commissioner.

More Nigerians are seeking United Kingdom (UK) visas, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mrs. Catriona Laing, said yesterday.

The envoy noted, however, that the UK government was mindful of the situation and was in talks with the Federal Government to avoid brain-drain, especially in the health sector.

Mrs. Laing spoke in Abuja when she featured at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Forum.

The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said the country is not progressing because unqualified persons hold several government positions.

Obi disclosed this on Saturday via his verified Twitter handle.

● Afenifere splinter group emerges, opts for Kwankwaso.

The crisis rocking the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, deepened on Sunday when a splinter group called New Afenifere emerged.

The group was unveiled when its leaders met with the Presidential Candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in Lagos State on Sunday.

Abuja—A 56-year-old widow and mother of four, Mrs. Ajisegiri Sidika, who concealed 400grams of cocaine in her footwear, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, on her way to Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Unspecified number of terrorists were killed in Kaduna State, at the weekend, following fresh raid by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) that destroyed their camps and forced several others to flee with wounds.

In A Random Attack, A Woman Is Lit On Fire On A Toronto bus; Man Apprehended, Police Say

Dundas, Kipling Centre. A woman lays in the hospital with critical injuries, she was set ablaze on a Toronto bus in what police say was a "random" attack.  The woman in her 20's was attacked by a 35-year-old man. The woman remains in hospital with life-altering injuries, most of which are second and third-degree burns, media relations officer Toronto police Const. Alex Li told reporters outside Kipling station, where the incident took place. The suspect has been arrested with charges pending, police say. Toronto police were called to the Kipling Avenue and Dundas Street West area around 12:30 p.m. for reports of a woman being assaulted. Police say a man poured a liquid substance on the woman and ignited it, causing a fire. The woman was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital. There's no word on her current condition. It's unknown what motivated the attack, but Li says there was some sort of interaction between the man and woman before it happened. Police continue to invest...

About two years ago, one Nigerian government official whom I know visited the United Kingdom.                                    Trees Beautifully Grown In Nigeria  It was that peak period of covid crisis, where many countries had various Covid containment regulations to help reduce the spread.  On the day he was to return to Nigeria, I was one of those who escorted him to the Airport.  When we got to the Airport, we realised that he was supposed to have a Covid test done, and the result uploaded to Nigerian Govt Portal.
