64-Year Old Kathy Hochul Becomes First Elected Woman Governor Of New York.

Democrat Kathy Hochul retains the office she took over in 2021 when former Gov. Andrew Cuomo resigned.

New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul defeated Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin and she also made history as the first elected female governor of New York.

Kathy Hochul assures; 

"I’m not here to make history, I’m here to make a difference”, Hochul told supporters after her triumph.

“I may be New York’s first woman governor, but I know I won’t be the last”, she tweeted on Wednesday.
