I Love To Cook 👍

THE NOBLE ACT CALLED COOKING.

Written By Janet Odidi Obuotor To Young Jamin For Flawlessly Embracing The Act Of Cooking.

The science behind the act of cooking is not an easy one.

Cooking can be a Herculean task. It ranges from the simple task of boiling, say an egg, to long hours of standing, painstakingly micro-managing all the ingredients that go into a pot, while adding that extra love and care.

It entails ensuring the right mix is achieved, to make a meal taste good.

Cooking is indeed a science and an act, fused into one. It is an adventurous and heroic act.

Cooking is physics, you must structure the various ingredients involved, their behavioural pattern, and how they would interact; right before placing them into the pot. Similarly,  you must factor in how much heat energy is needed to apply to the ingredients for a perfect outcome.

Cooking is mathematics, it is an equation of how much of each ingredient is required.

Cooking is chemistry, what substance is applied to the mix or should not be applied?

Cooking is Biology, the build-up and composition of each fruit, vegetable, seeds, meat, fish and blend are taken into cognizant, all must nourish the living.

Cooking is all the above with a fusion of drama and jazz. The food sits on heat, spewing sensational sounds, just like jazz, it sizzles and pops. The pouring, the stirring, the cracks, so much drama, it is.

Cooking thrills and fills you with excitement, as you calmly wait, hoping that your experiment yields a savoury meal.

Cooking embodies poetry, it is ample style and rhythm.

In cooking, all ingredients must be directly proportionate to the other. It is a give and receive scenario. In this symbiotic relationship any miscalculation can result in an absolute disaster.

Cooking is like a romantic play, if the ingredients don't entangle there would be a catastrophic detangling.

Cooking, a task, seemingly simple yet so grand, it embraces also the elements of nature, Earth, Wind, Fire and Water.

Cooking appreciates nature's tough work, it gives credence by applying these elements of nature into producing a palatable 'snack' for our tummies.

The wind and air, a stabilizing force for the heat to thrive as the food cooks. Fire for heat and warmth. Water, provides the required moisture and cleansing of the ingredients. Earth to germinate the seeds for food.

So, the next time you swallow a morsel from your favourite meal, while your nostrils inhale the aroma, your tongue relishes the saporous flavour and your mouth full of the delightful food. Say a thank you and mean it!

Thank you Jamin.

  2. Very interesting reading.
    Cooking also involves
    Economics, Budgeting and delivery.
Until what is cooked get to the consumer and he is satisfied with it before whatever is cooked is given passed marks.
Truly cooking is a serious job and untill the consumer of what is cooked is satisfied or approved, the cook will not be at peace.
Kudos all those that can cook.

A new study has revealed that the presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has outperformed the two other major presidential candidates – Peter Obi of Labour Party and Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC – on positive ratio metrics in all the mentions from all discussions about the presidential candidates across all media platforms and fora reviewed. According to the report which adopted Artificial Intelligence tools to analyse 500,000 mentions of the candidates on both traditional and social media within a one-month period, it revealed that although Atiku Abubakar has less mentions on Twitter compared to Peter Obi, he, however, got more positive sentiments from people than the duo of Tinubu and Peter Obi.
