Breaking: Nnamdi Kanu - Appeal Court Fix Today For Ruling

 

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has fixed October 13 for judgment in an appeal filed by Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), challenging criminal charges against him.

Nnamdi Kanu, is being re-arraigned before a Federal High Court on amended 15 counts bordering on treasonable felony by the Nigerian government.

Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team led by Mike Ozekhome (SAN), is praying the court to erase all charges against Kanu and grant the release of Kanu on bail pending the determination of his appeal.

Justice Binta Nyako had earlier struck out eight of the 15 counts against Kanu on the 8th of April 2022.

Kanu’s team of lawyers, filed an appeal marked CA/ABJ/CR/625/2022, praying the court to quash the remaining seven counts for being devoid of merit.

Ifeanyi Ejiofor Esq, IPOB’s lead counsel in a statement  titled:

"Update on Onyendu’s Court of Appeal case.”

Said judgement will be delivered on Kanu’s appeal (Thursday), October 13, 2022 at 2pm.

The statement read; 

“We wish to inform UmuChineke and all followers of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, that we have just received notification from the Court of Appeal, Abuja Judicial Division, that the long awaited Judgement in Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Appeal No. CA/ABJ/CR/625/2022 BETWEEN: MAZI NNAMDI KANU VS FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, will be delivered tomorrow, 13th October 2022 at 2:00PM.

“We are very excited with this news as we look forward to a victorious outing tomorrow. The legal team is leaving no stone unturned as we have been working assiduously behind the scene.

“The hour has come, and it will surely end in Victory. Please do not relent in your prayers as they are positively impacting. We will surely have every cause to rejoice for Victory is ours and it shall surely end in Praises. Thank you all, UmuChineke and remain blessed and law abiding as you have always been.”

In A Random Attack, A Woman Is Lit On Fire On A Toronto bus; Man Apprehended, Police Say

Dundas, Kipling Centre. A woman lays in the hospital with critical injuries, she was set ablaze on a Toronto bus in what police say was a "random" attack.  The woman in her 20's was attacked by a 35-year-old man. The woman remains in hospital with life-altering injuries, most of which are second and third-degree burns, media relations officer Toronto police Const. Alex Li told reporters outside Kipling station, where the incident took place. The suspect has been arrested with charges pending, police say. Toronto police were called to the Kipling Avenue and Dundas Street West area around 12:30 p.m. for reports of a woman being assaulted. Police say a man poured a liquid substance on the woman and ignited it, causing a fire. The woman was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital. There's no word on her current condition. About two years ago, one Nigerian government official whom I know visited the United Kingdom.                                    Trees Beautifully Grown In Nigeria  It was that peak period of covid crisis, where many countries had various Covid containment regulations to help reduce the spread.  On the day he was to return to Nigeria, I was one of those who escorted him to the Airport.  When we got to the Airport, we realised that he was supposed to have a Covid test done, and the result uploaded to Nigerian Govt Portal.
