Billionaire Heiress Eliza Fletcher Kidnapped During a Jog in Memphis, Now Confirmed Dead

Eliza Fletcher, a 34 year old mother of two and granddaughter of billionaire Joseph Orgill III, was violently abducted while out jogging near the University of Memphis campus and forced into an SUV at 4am on Friday.

Unfortunately, the search for missing billionaire heiress and kindergarten teacher Eliza Fletcher has come to a tragic conclusion, three days after she was abducted.

The cause and manner of death have not been disclosed.

The Police Department of Memphis confirmed that the body discovered in Memphis on Sept. 5 belongs to Fletcher.

Security video showed that a person approached the mom of two and forced her into a black GMC Terrain.

On Sept. 3, Memphis police announced that a "vehicle of interest" had been located and they had detained its driver for questioning. The same day, Fletcher's family members released a statement read by her uncle, Michael Keeney, and announced a $50,000 return for her safe return.

"Liza has touched the hearts of many people," he said. "The family has met with police, and we have shared with them all the information we know. More than anything we want to see Liza returned home safely."

Sadly, she was murdered.

Her family released a statement on Tuesday afternoon saying that they are “heartbroken and devastated” by her murder.

"We are grateful beyond measure to local, state and federal law enforcement for their tireless efforts to find Liza and to bring justice to the person responsible for this horrible crime,” the statement continued.

The murder suspect is 38 year old Cleotha Abston. Abston is now held without bond and has the most serious charges against him, including first-degree murder.
