BREAKING: Bola Ahmed Tinubu Wins APC Presidential Ticket

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, is the winner of the party’s presidential primary.

He obtained over 1,271 votes to defeat his closest rivals, ex-minister Rotimi Amaechi and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

While Amaechi polled 316 votes, Osinbajo scored 235 votes.

The former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, took a major step toward his ambition of becoming Nigeria’s President by winning the All Progressives Congress’ presidential primary at a special convention held in Eagle Square, Abuja.

“This is to certify that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, having scored the highest number of votes cast, is hereby declared the winner."

“In line with the provisions of the constitution of our great party and by the power conferred on me as the Returning Officer of this special convention, I, Atiku Bagudu, do hereby declare Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the presidential candidate of our party in the 2023 presidential election.”So said Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State who declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the elected candidate.

Tinubu polled a total of 1,271 votes – more than four times the votes scored by his closet rival, Amaechi who had 316 votes.

A Benue High Court on Monday ordered Ayu to stop parading himself as national chairman of the PDP pending determination of the suit before it. The National Working Committee, NWC of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), acting on the order, yesterday, confirmed its Deputy National Chairman (North), Amb. Umar Illiya Damagum, as acting national chairman after Ayu, stepped aside in honor to the court order.  The PDP NWC took the decision at an emergency meeting, yesterday reports the Vanguard news. Ayu will cease to function as national chairman until the court says otherwise.
