Labour Party Has Given A Credible Platform For The Next President Of Nigeria - Senator Victor Umeh

                                         Peter Obi

Senator Victor Umeh has commended the Labour Party (LP) for giving Igbo the credible platform to produce the next president of Nigeria through Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State.

Umeh, who is the former national chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, made this known while addressing journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, state headquarters in Awka.

Umeh pointed out that if not for the LP, Igbo people would have been watching the buildup to the 2023 presidential election from the sidelines, in spite of their contributions towards the development of the major political parties.

                              Senator Victor Umeh

Umeh expressed his satisfaction on working with the LP presidential project.

He said: “When this opportunity came, I saw it as a way to work for Nigeria. One should not keep quiet when his people are forgotten. If nothing is done now, we will leave this unfortunate and hopeless situation in Nigeria with our children.

“My joy is that Nigerians have chosen Peter Obi as their candidate for the presidential election. Nigerians from all shades of opinion are clamouring for Obi and that is a wonderful development.

"Those who are championing the Obi presidency have even taken over the project from him. In fact, to say that it is the youths that have taken over the project is to trivialize it as it is not only youths that want Obi to be president. People of all age groups also want him because he is a hot brand.

” Anybody who is not taking the matter serious is making a big mistake considering the momentum it is gathering everyday.

"Since I joined him in this project, I have been contributing my quota to ensure that Nigerians get the kind of president they are yearning for.

“What is happening in Nigeria is divine and it is not based on human arrangement.

“What is driving him are his messages on economy, resource and human management which are what Nigeria requires at this time”.

Umeh is the senatorial candidate of the Labour Party, LP, for Anambra Central for the 2023 election,

Atiku Abubakar - Nigeria Will Be Safe In My Hands

Former Vice President of Nigeria and a former Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said Nigerians would be safe in his hands if he becomes President in 2023. He made this known at the South-West edition of the Atiku Abubakar Town Hall Meetings of National Unity and Prosperity Forum 2022, powered by the Atiku Kawai Media Group, held in Lagos. Atiku said he understands the country’s challenges; hence Nigerians would be in safe hands if he becomes President. The former Presidential candidate said: “I am aware of the daunting challenges faced by visioners as they struggle to create a nation out of an amalgamation of communities. "The willpower and empathy required to fix Nigeria will need a leader who knows both the historical and contemporary issues of our generations. “Nigeria and indeed Nigerians will be safe in my hands. And together, we can halt the slide and redirect our collective resources to build a prosperous country.” Atiku hints at running for P...

President Buhari, Federal Government, Donates $1m To Afghanistan

The Resource Centre for Human Rights & Civic Education (CHRICED) has faulted the Federal Government’s $1 million donations to Afghanistan’s Taliban government, saying the move made no economic sense, according to the Guardian news. The group also condemned the high cost of the nomination form for presidential aspirants by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that it would pave way for corruption to subsist. Addressing a press conference on the state of the nation in Abuja yesterday, the group’s Executive Director, Ibrahim Zikirullahi, said such a gift to Afghanistan should not come from a government that claims to be fighting terrorism. Reports had it that the donation was to boost Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) efforts at easing the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan. Zikirullah argued: “That ill-advised donation ignored the fact that the Taliban is led by terrorists, who have no respect for women and have prevented women from attending school. ...
