Nwankwo Kanu - Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Donated Funds First To Kanu Heart Foundation

Tinubu was the first donor of money to Kanu Heart Foundation – Ex-Eagles player.

Former Super Eagles striker, Nwankwo Kanu has revealed that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s monetary donation helped him kick start his Kanu Heart Foundation. The All Progressives Congress (APC)’s National Leader and 2023 presidential hopeful, touched several lives via his donation.

Kanu revealed this on Saturday, March 19, 2022, when he visited Tinubu to congratulate him on his 70th birthday which comes up on March 29, 2022.

Other players at the event include former goalkeepers, Peter Rufai, Ike Shorunmu and Dosu Joseph; former captain, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha; and defenders Taribo West and Uche Okechukwu.

Midfielders, Tijani Babangida and Mutiu Adepoju and strikers, Victor Ikpeba and Obafemi Martins complete the guests list.

In a statement released by the former Lagos state governor’s medi aide, Tunde Rahman, Kanu was quoted as saying that Tinubu donated the first seed money for that initiative in 2002.

“Without that money, there wouldn’t have been Kanu Foundation to perform the heart surgeries that have saved many lives,” Kanu said.

Since it was launched in 2000, the Kanu Heart Foundation has successfully helped 538 children of varying ages access free open heart surgeries in hospitals across the world.

The former Arsenal player was also diagnose of a congenital heart defect and underwent surgery in 1996, this nearly ended his playing career but made a full recovery.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone!  THE ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS  Christmas is celebrated, it is a day set aside to remember the birth of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe is the Son of God. The name 'Christmas' comes from the Mass of Christ (or Jesus). A Mass service (which is sometimes called Communion or Eucharist) is where Christians remember that Jesus died for us and then came back to life. Christmas is also a time to love and to share! Giving is the real meaning of Christmas because it is the very essence of love, unselfishness, and humility. Taking into consideration by remembering the priceless free gift that was given to us from above, let us celebrate it by showing one another, how much we value each other. Let us show our gratitude!
