IPOB bans Nigerian anthem in South East schools, use of cows at ceremonies.

▪The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has banned the singing of Nigeria’s national anthem in schools and the use of Fulani cows during festive seasons in the South East region.

▪Its Head, Directorate of State, Chika Edoziem, who made the announcement in Enugu, yesterday, urged IPOB members to prepare for a global protest with a focus on the British, Nigerian Embassy, Kenyan Embassy and the United Nations.

Lekan Balogun can be Olubadan -Lawyer. The passage of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, on Sunday, may brood new legal tussles for the assumption of the new Olubadan.

A lawyer, Ola Adeosun, of Ola Adeosun & Co Chambers, based in Ibadan, told The PUNCH that the chieftaincy declaration of 1957 puts Balogun in good stead, and that the hierarchy of the Obaship is clear.

Nigeria Not Ripe For Direct Primaries — IPAC. The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) says Nigeria is not ripe to adopt direct primaries however beneficial it may appear to be.

The IPAC, which is a pressure group of the 18 registered political parties in the country, said the National Assembly’s attempt to override President Muhammadu Buhari’s veto on the Electoral Act Amendment Bill would be fruitless.
