The 65th annual Grammy Awards is around the corner and Nigerian pop stars Tems and Burna Boy are among the nominees for the Grammy. Tems, whose full name is Temilade Openiyi, received a nomination for; ● Beyonce’s ‘Renaissance’ album - the Album of the Year category. ● Best Melodic Rap Performance category for the song, ‘Wait for U’. Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu professionally known as Burna Boy received a nomination for; ● The song ‘Last Last’ in the Best Global Music Performance category. ●  His latest album ‘Love, Damini’ in the Best Global Music Album category. The awards will be handed out on February 5, 2023, in Los Angeles. Beyonce led all contenders with nine nominations, followed by rapper Kendrick Lamar with eight, and pop diva Adele and balladeer Brandi Carlile tied at seven each. Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z are now tied as the most nominated artists in Grammys history, with 88 each.

He also suffered a hit to the back of his head. On the 9th of November, reality star Frankie Grande, 39, was taking a walk along 8th Avenue between 44th and 43rd streets in Midtown at around 6:30 p.m. He was suddenly attacked by two boys, they struck the back of his head, and then ran off with his designer bag. According to police, the suspects fled with the stolen bag, which contained an iPhone 14 Pro, AirPods, sunglasses and a wallet. The suspect's ages 13 and 17 had attempted to use Frankie Grande's credit card at several stores, they were arrested by the police. Nigerian singer, Kizz Daniel, has been confirmed as one of the headline performing artistes at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. FIFA shared the lineup on its official Instagram page on Friday. 64-Year Old Kathy Hochul Becomes First Elected Woman Governor Of New York. Democrat Kathy Hochul retains the office she took over in 2021 when former Gov. Andrew Cuomo resigned. New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul defeated Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin and she also made history as the first elected female governor of New York. Kathy Hochul assures;  "I’m not here to make history, I’m here to make a difference”, Hochul told supporters after her triumph. “I may be New York’s first woman governor, but I know I won’t be the last”, she tweeted on Wednesday.

The People’s Democratic Party  (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are trading blame over an attack on the campaign convoy of presidential candidate of the PDP, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in Maiduguri. According to ThisDay News, the spokesman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s Presidential Campaign Team, Dino Melaye alleged that at least 74 persons were hospitalised while several vehicles were vandalised as hoodlums attacked the  attacked the campaig  convoy of Atiku Wednesday. Melaye, made the allegation during the party’s campaign rally in Maiduguri, accusing the All Progressives Congress (APC) of trying to stop PDP’s campaign in the state by deploying thugs to attack them.
