Covid-19 Vaccines- Your Options

CDC recommends people not get J&J vaccine if Pfizer, Moderna are available. CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky signed off on language that says the mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna are the "preferred" options over Johnson & Johnson's. People shouldn’t get the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine when the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna shots are available, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday. The recommendation, from CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, came hours after members of the agency's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted in favor of the guidance. The panel convened following an update from the Food and Drug Administration on the risk of rare but potentially life-threatening blood clots linked to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.  At least 54 people in the U.S., most of them women, have been hospitalized by the blood clots, and nine people have died. "Today’s updated recommendation emphasizes CDC’s commitm

(ASUU) - A plot by Government to allow their private Universities to thrive

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has accused agents of the Federal Government of executing a well-planned plot to decimate the Nigerian public university system to allow their privately owned ones to thrive. The union, however, said it would not fold its hands and allow such a plot to succeed. It insisted that if strike remained the only language understood by the government, it would continue to speak it. The Port Harcourt zone of ASUU, in a position paper read by its Zonal Coordinator, Stanley Ogoun, at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education on Tuesday, identified persons and institutions frustrating their efforts for peaceful resolution of the issues. Ogoun said the agents of the ministries of finance, the Office of the Accountant-General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and particularly the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Sunny Echono, were obstacles to resolving the problems. He further said the Minister of Labour a

No Christmas hosting at Buckingham Palace this year

Why Queen won't host Christmas celebrations at Buckingham Palace this year. Her Majesty has changed her plans. Her Majesty the queen has changed her Christmas plans amid the coronavirus pandemic. In normal times, the monarch would host a pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace but this year the plans are up in the air. While it was reported earlier this week that plans were underway for the Queen to host the annual lunch on Tuesday 21 December at Windsor Castle instead, the monarch's lunch has now been canceled altogether. Another reason behind Buckingham Palace not being considered for the lunch in the first place is because it is currently undergoing huge renovation works to overhaul the building.   Buckingham Palace will not host the royal family this Christmas.  A ten-year renovation programme, at a total cost of £369million, aims to replace the electrical cabling, plumbing and heating. It is hoped that the project, which started in 2017, will help make Buckingham Palace m
