Black Panther Director - Ryan Coogler, Mistaken For A Bank Robber

Black Panther director Ryan Coogler was mistaken for a bank robber and briefly arrested at a Georgia bank. Coogler, 35, who was quietly standing at the counter, having passed a female teller a handwritten note asking her to discreetly withdraw the cash from his account.  'Woah, woah woah,' he said, clearly taken aback on realizing he was being apprehended, as an officer orders him to put his hands behind his back.  'You got it, you got it,' he said. Alleged Killer Of Super TV Boss, Chidinma Ojukwu, Crowned Kirikiri Beauty Queen

Chidinma Ojukwu, is Miss Cell 2022 in Kirikiri Correctional Centre.  The young lady who went viral some months ago over the alleged killing of Super TV boss, Michael Ataga, has now been crowned beauty queen at a pageant at the correctional facility. Ojukwu emerged the winner of the competition. In an exclusive chat with Daily Trust, the National Spokesperson, Nigeria Correctional Service, Francis Enobore, confirmed the news explaining the reason behind the beauty pageant. The spokesman noted that part of the services of the correctional facility is to ensure that inmates are in ‘sound and good spirit.’ Enobore further stated that to ensure that inmates are in a high spirit, the correctional centres engage them in exciting competitions likes; pageantry, cooking competitions among others.   Wonders they say shall never end! A video of a Nigerian police officer at an event, carrying food for a female very important personality (VIP) went viral.  The Nigeria Police Force Headquarters reacted to the viral video.  The Police force has cautioned its members to desist from unprofessional conduct and be professional in the discharge of their duty. A police officer was captured on camera carrying a female VIP’s food tray at an event in Ilorin, Kwara state’s capital. While reacting to the video, the acting Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi  told Punch that the police officer has been identified and summoned to Abuja. "He (the policeman) has been identified."  "He is coming to Abuja to meet us. We’ll ask question from him and take necessary action. We need to discourage such a thing because it is embarrassing the image of the Force and we can’t continue to be experiencing that kind of a thing because it is highly unprofessional.” He reiterated.

Nigerians Besiege Ukraine Embassy Volunteer To Fight

About 115 young men, yesterday, offered to join Ukraine in its fight against Russia. The men, who besieged the Ukraine Embassy in Abuja, also put down their names in a register provided by the embassy. The volunteers may have been responding to a recent call by Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, urging people around the world to join the fight. In a statement released last Sunday, the President accused the Russian army of killing civilians and praised Ukrainians for having the courage to defend themselves. He said that the assault by Russia was not just “Russia’s invasion of Ukraine” but also the beginning of a war against democracy and basic human rights. Zelensky had called on anyone who wished to join the defense of Ukraine, Europe and the world to come and fight side by side with Ukrainians. This is all happening at a time Nigerians in Ukraine are struggling to return home.

President Buhari Signs Electoral Act Amendment Bill Into Law. The Electoral Act Amendment Bill has finally been signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.  The President okayed the bill at past noon on Friday at a brief procession held at the Council Chamber of the Aso Villa in Abuja. The President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, witnessed the signing of the bill. Members of the President’s cabinet in attendance included his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, among others. This comes barely a week to the expiration of the window the President has to take a decision on the proposed legislation, as required by the Nigerian Constitution. In Abuja on Tuesday Some Civil Society Organisations protested over the alleged delay by the President in signing the bill into law. The bill is expected to strengthen the electoral process.
