Hard Times - Abuja Women Sell Their Gold Jewellery

Wow! Things are definitely getting tougher by the day. God help us! The Abuja Gold market at Wuse Zone 5, Abuja was flocked with women wanting to not buy gold jewellery but rather sell their gold jewellery to the gold sellers/merchants. The women complained bitterly of the present economic hardship and the dire need to raise money for children's school fees, and other bills. One of the women opened up, she said: "I bought my gold before I got married but today I am forced to sell it. Things are hard. My husband is not aware, I did not tell him. We need to pay the children's school fees.  I will just let him know that I have been able to raise the money." I watched her keenly and just like she said, she placed a call and I could hear her say,  "Honey, I have sent the money to the woman...." Suddenly, her weary countenance changed into a broad smile. I guess her sacrifice met with gratitude from a grateful husband. I beamed in admiration at her selfless act. S
